In November 2020 we heard that we had been Awarded the Campaign to Protect Rural England Chairman’s Award
The Tewin Stores manager, Bev Barraclough receives the Award from Richard Bullen, Chairman of the CPRE
Our shop won this Award for the way it supported the Community throughout lockdown, and because it has been run as a viable social business since 2008. The Store has also demonstrated that it has a sustainable future, and has never depended on the efforts of just one or two individuals. The involvement of the Community in supporting the shop, both customers and volunteers, which helped to fund the purchase of the premises impressed the judges.
The BBQ pictures say it all. It was a wonderful summy mid September day attended by many people who don't always manage to get out and about: Wonderful food from Jerry and Paula; Music from Aimee P and the chance to chat at a comfortable socail distance.
